Erasmus+ APV:"YOUth Inspires Europe" in Portugal
This project is part of the Erasmus + program, funded by the European Commission and will
involve 46 participants from different countriescountries: Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, Lithuania & and Czech Republic.
Between 23 rd March and 26 th March we sent to Portugal a leader from our organization who had the opportunity to prepare the activity, together with the leaders from other nationalities. This was a chance to know better the program, the activities and get more knowledge about it in order to have an excellent activity in June, during the youth exchange in Oeiras.“YOUth Inspires Europe” was born in a moment when Europe faces multiple challenges and where it is necessary to find the strength and inspiration to respond to them, for example through the Europe 2020 strategy towards smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. We want to live in an inspiring Europe, of all, for all, where each young person plays a decisive role.
During the activity, the young people will take part in several activities of non-formal learning
linked to European diversity, in which we want to highlight not only the cultural differences
that show the identity of each country, but above all the similarities that connect the
participant countries, as a way of fight against stereotypes and contribute to the development
of a more inclusive Europe.
The young people will have the chance to know the local community and to have contact with
the Portuguese culture and habits and share at the same time their own culture with the other
members of the group.
Some of the activities are volunteering actions, group works, intercultural evenings, cultural
visits, sports, among others.
We will send 5 participants and 1 youth leader in June. They will prepare workshops about topics related to active citizenship, make presentations about Sports & Social Inclusion and prepare a Healthy Dinner, sharing our culture, traditions, customs and typical dishes.
In the end of the youth exchange we hope that the young people become more aware of their
role in the society and about the importance of Intercultural Dialogue to reach one more
inclusive Europe from all to all. We also expect that this can be the beginning of several
individual and group projects in our community.
