ERASMUS+ YOUTH EXCHANGE: "From Clay to Labour Market "

ABOUT THE PROJECT:  The Youth Exchange Project entitled: From Clay to Labour Market is an innovative and creative programme, designed to take place in Mytilini/Lesvos, from the NGO Politistiki Anazitisi Lesvou (POLI.ANA). The programme aims to promote young people of the NEET target group, towards the traditional pottery profession by transferring long-term knowledge as well as the local, cultural heritage to empower youth entrepreneurship. The best practice/case study of the Project, to be studied, will be the traditional Pottery Centre of Agios Stefanos, Mantamados, Lesvos
Island, literally one of the last remaining significant crafttrading Potteries in the north-eastern Aegean area.


  •  Increasing the impact of youth employment, especially of NEETs, young people exhibiting limited access to education, training, work and mobility and mainstream it towards relevant strategies and efficient practices.

  • Promoting youth entrepreneurship.

  • Disseminating and preserving cultural heritage issues and implement knowledge of the traditional
    so called “endangered” professions to a joint transnational framework.

  • Raising awareness and solidarity of European countries on unemployment issues.

  •  Supporting youth mobility.

  • Empowering youth participation and co-operation beyond geographical, cultural or religion borders.

  • Establishing EE policy and mostly Erasmus+, as a useful tool to be used by the young citizens.

PARTICIPANT COUNTRIES: 24 participants in toal, 18-30 years old from 4 different European
countries: Italy, Portugal, Poland and Greece. All participants, exhibiting a restricted access to the labour market, due to various social-economical or educational obstacles, must be involved in cultural heritage actions and ready to implement practices within this framework.

DATES:  14 - 21 June 2018 (14 & 21 Travel days)

LOCATION: Mytilini, Lesvos Island, Greece

FINANCIAL DETAILS:The organizers will cover the following costs with the support of the European Commission: 

  • 100% of meals, accommodation, activities costs; 

  • Transport cost up to 275 EUR per participant
